Last Wednesday I had the opportunity to attend the inaugural Massachusetts Cybersecurity Forum, hosted by the Massachusetts Tech Collaborative. The audience of academia, government and private industry came together to discuss critical cyber security challenges and to hear from Governor Baker as he announced the creation of the “Cybersecurity Growth and Development Center at the Massachusetts Technology Collaborative.”
The day was an impressive display of commitment from the State, the innovation that is native to Massachusetts and the opportunity to work as a community to solve the most pressing issues in cyber security. The forum delegates had the opportunity to break out into four Cyber Treks hosted in different Kendall Square locations by Akamai, Google, IBM and Draper. Delegates then came back together for a discussion on cyber talent. Panel participants included CYBRIC CEO Ernesto DiGiambattista, who was also a director and organizer of the event. He’s the second one from the right, below.
The day was a reminder of the criticality of the cyber security threat and the need to collaborate to protect industry, government and our citizens. It is impressive to see the leadership Massachusetts continues to show in innovation and commitment to cyber security. A great inaugural event, and can’t wait to see what next year has in store.
